An HO6 insurance policy is commonly called condo insurance because it provides coverage for condominium units. This type of coverage includes liability coverage, personal property coverage, and improvement coverage. It doesn’t cover the exterior of the condo unit, because that is typically covered by the HOA (homeowner’s association).

HO6 insurance will protect you if someone is injured inside of your unit or the interior suffers damage or theft. This coverage is usually coordinated with the HOA’s insurance coverage of the unit. You can pay extra for coverage of specific perils such as earthquakes and hurricanes.
